What Is a Brow Lift?

Drooping brows can make you look tired and older. Brow lift surgery, also known as forehead lift surgery elevates and repositions the brows to a natural, youthful position giving you a more alert and rested look.

What Are the Benefits of a Brow Lift?

  • Lifts drooping, sagging brows
  • Smooths horizontal forehead wrinkles
  • Reduces vertical furrows between the eyebrows
  • Makes you look less tired and angry
  • Can enhance your confidence in your appearance

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR BROWLIFT SURGERY?

You may be a candidate for browlift surgery if:

  • Your brow is sagging
  • Your brow is in a lower position from where it normally was
  • You feel your droppy brow is giving you a hooded look
  • You lift your brow with your fingers and you feel this makes you look better

What Does a Brow Lift Involve?

What is discussed during my

Brow Lift Consultation?

A consultation with Dr. Lo is required before your brow lift surgery. During this consultation, Dr. Lo will discuss your goals for the procedure, evaluate your situation, and offer recommendations.

Many patients may need to have an upper eyelid lift and lower eyelid lift surgery along with their brow lift to enhance their overall look in the eye area. This can be determined at your consultation with Dr. Lo.

WHERE ARE THE INCISIONS FOR

BROW LIFT SURGERY?

Dr. Lo’s preferred technique to lift the brows is called the temporal brow lift, where an incision is made just behind the hairline and hides easily in your hair. Based on a patient’s individual situation, an incision may be made at the hairline. Brow lift surgery is done without cutting or shaving your hair.

How Long is THE

BROW LIFT SURGERY PROCEDURE?

Brow lift surgery takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete.

What type of anesthesia IS USED FOR

BROW LIFT SURGERY?

You have a choice of anesthesia for your brow lift surgery.

  • Local anesthesia: numbs only the area being treated, and you are awake for the procedure
  • Twilight sedation (the most popular option): uses local anesthesia to numb the area being treated while intravenous medications are used to make you more comfortable
  • General anesthesia: puts you completely to sleep for the duration of the procedure

What Should I expect FOR

RECOVERY AFTER BROW LIFT SURGERY?

When you go home after the procedure, you should rest and elevate your head. Using ice or ice packs will minimize the swelling and bruising. Dr. Lo has a special protocol to further minimize swelling and bruising so that you may return to normal activities quickly.

You may be able to drive in three to five days. You will need to avoid heavy lifting and exertion for two weeks but may resume exercise in 10 to 14 days.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WITH BROW LIFT SURGERY?

WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS OF MY BROW LIFT SURGERY?

You will notice the brows lifted immediately but swelling and bruising will make it difficult to see the final result for many weeks. Your brow may look overcorrected for a few weeks before it settles into the normal position. After one month, you will begin to see the early results of your surgery, but it may take up to six months or more to see your final results.

You will have regular follow-up appointments for Dr. Lo to monitor your healing for up to one year after the surgery.

HOW LONG WILL MY BROW LIFT RESULTS LAST?

With Dr. Lo’s technique, your brow lift should last for an average of 10 years, although it can vary from patient to patient.

WHAT PROCEDURES ARE USUALLY COMBINED WITH BROW LIFT SURGERY?

Brow lift surgery can be performed as a standalone procedure, or it can be performed alongside a face or body contouring procedure for comprehensive rejuvenation.
