Brow Lift Surgery in Philadelphia
What Is a Brow Lift?
Brow lift surgery elevates a droopy or saggy brow back to a normal position. With aging and time, your brow can begin to sag, giving you a “hooded,” heavy, or tired look. Drooping brows can also make you look tired and older than you are. Brow lift surgery, also known as forehead lift surgery, repositions the brows to a more natural, youthful position to give you a more alert and rested look.
What Are the Benefits of a Brow Lift?
- Lifts drooping, sagging brows
- Smooths horizontal forehead wrinkles
- Reduces vertical furrows between the eyebrows
- Makes you look less tired and angry
- Can enhance your confidence in your appearance
What Does a Brow Lift Involve?
What Is the Brow Lift Consultation Like?
A consultation with Dr. Lo is required before your brow lift surgery. During this consultation, Dr. Lo will discuss your goals for the procedure, evaluate your situation, and offer recommendations.
Many patients may need to have an upper eyelid lift and lower eyelid lift surgery along with their brow lift to enhance their overall look in the eye area. This can be determined at your consultation with Dr. Lo.
Where Are the Incisions for Brow Lift Surgery?
Dr. Lo’s preferred technique to lift the brows is called the temporal brow lift, where an incision is made just behind the hairline and hides easily in your hair. Based on a patient’s individual situation, an incision may be made at the hairline. Brow lift surgery is done without cutting or shaving your hair.
How Long Does It Take to Recover After Brow Lift Surgery?
When you go home after the procedure, you should rest and elevate your head. Using ice or ice packs will minimize the swelling and bruising. Dr. Lo has a special protocol to further minimize swelling and bruising so that you may return to normal activities quickly.
You may be able to drive in three to five days. You will need to avoid heavy lifting and exertion for two weeks but may resume exercise in 10 to 14 days.
When Will I See the Results of My Brow Lift Surgery?
You will notice the brows lifted immediately, but swelling and bruising will make it difficult to see the final result for many weeks. Your brow may look overcorrected for a few weeks before it settles into the normal position. After one month, you will begin to see the early results of your surgery, but it may take up to six months or more to see your final results.
You will have regular follow-up appointments for Dr. Lo to monitor your healing for up to one year after the surgery.
