Melissa Galletta, PA-C
Our Physician Assistant, Melissa, has been with Dr. Lo since October 2018. Her dedication to patient safety and care is second to none! Melissa trained at SUNY Stony Brook, Long Island, NY, graduating in 1991. Prior to attending Stony Brook, she attended and graduated from Adelphi University, where she attained her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology. She began her PA career at Queens Hospital Center in General Surgery, before heading out to Arizona for 12 years, where she worked as a PA in Pediatric General Surgery and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Melissa is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants and is certified by the NCCPA.
Melissa is part of the initial consultation with each new patient that comes to discuss surgery with Dr. Lo. She also handles the process of getting patients ready for surgery, reviewing in detail what a patient should expect with their pre and post op care and obtaining medical clearances if necessary. She is at the surgery center with Dr. Lo assisting in the operating room. For every procedure, patients are comfortable knowing that Melissa is there to guide them through their entire “day of surgery” experience. The day after surgery, Melissa follows up with the post-surgery care and guides them through their recovery. Her extensive experience as an emergency room and surgical PA has helped her be especially aware of how to help our patients have the best surgery experience. Her incredibly comforting manner and kind, gentle ways are very appreciated by not only our patients, but their families, and our staff! She is a top-notch addition to our already superior team here at Dr. Lo's office.
